Job summary

University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) seeks a Senior Accommodations, ADA, and Leave Specialist to serve as a subject-matter expert on workplace accommodations under ADA/ADAAA, PWFA, and related Maryland laws. The role manages a complex caseload and coordinates with HR, Faculty Affairs, and legal counsel to ensure compliant accommodations.

The position also handles leave administration, PFML/FMLA coordination, and related benefits, with telework options after 90 days.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, rehabilitation counseling, public administration, disability studies, law, or a related field.
Four (4) years of experience in administering workplace accommodation and interactive processes in a complex setting.
Experience in higher education, academic medical center, healthcare, or government is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage ADA/Accommodation caseload and PWFA/FMLA considerations across multiple frameworks.
Lead interactive process with employees, supervisors, HR, and leadership to implement accommodations.
Coordinate leave intake, approvals, and reconciliations; assist with PFML, FMLA, and related programs.
