Job summary

Genworth is seeking a Senior Actuary, Life Modeling in Richmond, VA, to lead the modeling modernization initiative. You will oversee Life models for UL and Traditional Life, act as a subject matter expert, and collaborate across valuation, projections, and IT teams.

The role requires a BA/BS in a quantitative field, FSA/ASA with 7+ years actuarial life experience, and deep AXIS experience (plus Integrate/MG-ALFA and PolySystems). You will mentor staff, document models, and help drive governance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a quantitative field with strong coursework.
• FSA or ASA with commensurate actuarial experience (7+ years).
• 8+ years of life insurance experience across UL and/or TRAD products.
• Strong expertise in AXIS and familiarity with Integrate/MG-ALFA and PolySystems.
• Strong technical and analytical skills with automation and AI awareness.
• End-to-end view of the modeling lifecycle with data, models, and business apps.

Responsibilities

• Drive Modeling & Modernization initiatives including UL Conversion and AXIS deployment.
• Partner with Valuation, Projections, Admin, and IT to design end-to-end modeling processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline production lifecycles with automation and AI.
• Provide SME on Life products and modeling approaches to cross-functional teams.
• Support assumption development, implementation, and testing with the assumptions team.
• Lead project workstreams and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Develop and maintain clear model documentation and governance.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior staff.
