Job summary

National Life Group in Montpelier, VT seeks an Actuary to build, test, and validate MG-ALFA models used for Asset Adequacy Testing, ALM, statutory forecasting, ORSA, VNB, and special projects. You will streamline modeling functionality for efficient projections and ensure MG-ALFA and GAAP/statutory accounting proficiency.

The role entails four onsite days per week, with core days Monday-Thursday, collaboration with IT and business partners, governance, and delivering validated production models

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, CS, Statistics, Economics, or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• FSA or Career ASA professional designation.
• 5+ years of modeling experience.
• MG-ALFA expertise or any modeling software.
• Experience with annuities, including Fixed-Indexed Annuities.

Responsibilities

• Own MG-ALFA model functionality end-to-end.
• Develop and maintain model inputs, interfaces, reports, and database.
• Participate in governance, assumption maintenance, and UAT.
• Lead projects to implement new products, riders, and model changes.
• Provide validated production models to end users quarterly.
• Collaborate with IT to automate and improve efficiency.
• Drive ad-hoc projects with business partners.
