Job summary

Genworth Financial, Inc. is seeking a Senior Actuary to lead Life Modeling and Modernization efforts in a hybrid role based in Richmond, VA with US remote options.

You will oversee UL and Traditional Life models, drive AXIS conversion, and partner with IT and projections teams to build scalable end-to-end processes. The role requires extensive life insurance experience, AXIS expertise, and strong leadership for cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Engineering, or related field with strong quantitative coursework.
• FSA or ASA with commensurate experience (7+ years in actuarial/insurance).
• 8+ years of life insurance experience across UL/TRAD products.
• Strong experience with AXIS and familiarity with Integrate/MG-ALFA and PolySystems.
• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python or similar tools; ability to apply in modeling.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to guide cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive Modeling & Modernization initiatives, including UL Conversion to AXIS.
• Collaborate with valuation, projections, admin, and IT to design scalable end-to-end processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve tooling and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Provide modeling expertise and support assumption development and testing.
• Lead project workstreams and mentor junior staff.
