Job summary

Nationwide Financial is seeking an Actuary to shape life insurance assumptions for pricing, product strategy, risk management and business decisions. You will own experience-study work from data to recommendations and partner with leaders to translate complex analysis into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• FSA credential, or progress toward FSA.
• Approximately seven or more years of actuarial experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Strong experience with actuarial analysis, statistical methods, data interpretation, modeling and assumption development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present recommendations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead life insurance experience studies and assumption-setting activities with data, controls and documentation.
• Own major life assumption through annual unlock cycle with mentorship.
• Present recommendations to the assumption council and communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Investigate experience trends to support pricing, product decisions, risk analysis and growth.
• Build, maintain and improve actuarial models, testing tools, data processes and reporting solutions.
• Partner with actuarial, finance, product, technology and other teams to improve processes.
• Help advance responsible AI use in actuarial work, including data transformation, controls, and quality checks.
