Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Sr. Actuarial Consultant for Life Insurance Valuation, REMOTE.

You will apply actuarial knowledge to life product valuation and support monthly/quarterly deliverables, including LDTI and PBR, collaborating with Tax, Controllership, Pricing, and other teams. The role requires ASA with pursuit of FSA preferred, 4–7 years of actuarial experience, and proficiency in SQL, Tableau/Power BI, and actuarial tools such as AXIS/ALFA/PolySystems.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics.
• ASA and working toward or achieving FSA preferred.
• Experience with life insurance valuation (statutory or GAAP) preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, categorizes, and analyzes sophisticated data sets.
• Builds complex testing tools and analyzes product calculations.
• Constructs, maintains, and performs Actuarial, Projection, and Valuation Models.
• Builds financial reporting tools and completes analyses.
• Prices and implements products and conducts risk analysis.
• Establishes reserves under statutory, GAAP, and tax regimes.
• Leads cross-functional reviews and communicates with leadership.
• Onboards and trains new associates on standard processes.
