Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Sr. Actuarial Consultant – Life Insurance Valuation to contribute to life product valuation efforts. The role supports evolving standards (LDTI, PBR) and delivers insightful analyses for monthly and quarterly valuation deliverables, using advanced tools and models.

You will collaborate with Tax, Controllership, Pricing and other partners, develop valuation tools, and ensure governance and documentation. This is a remote opportunity within the U.S.

Qualifications

• ASA is required; progress toward or attainment of FSA preferred.
• Experience in life insurance valuation and actuarial business functions.
• Proficiency with statistical methods and actuarial models.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency with Excel/VBA, SQL, and analytics tools.
• Experience with AXIS, ALFA, or PolySystems desired.

Responsibilities

• Apply actuarial knowledge to life insurance valuation activities.
• Support LDTI and PBR standards evolution analyses.
• Prepare and explain monthly and quarterly valuation deliverables.
• Develop and enhance valuation tools for validation and analysis.
• Collaborate with Tax, Controllership, Pricing and other stakeholders.
• Follow governance controls and maintain documentation.
