Job summary

PEMCO seeks a Data Scientist - Actuarial to conduct actuarial and predictive analyses supporting product development, rating, reserving, and system changes. You will provide analytical support for actuarial work and collaborate with product managers and actuaries to drive strategic decisions.

The role requires 3+ years in actuarial modeling, 1+ year in P&C, and strong Python/R/SAS/SQL skills. A detail-oriented, data-driven approach is essential for contribution to PEMCO's mission.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field is required.
• 3+ years of actuarial and predictive modeling experience is required.
• 1+ years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is required.
• MS Office—Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook proficiency is required.
• Python, R, SAS and/or SQL proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for actuarial and product development.
• Conduct predictive modeling and multivariate analysis.
• Assist with development and implementation of rates, pricing strategies, and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with Product Team and actuaries to inform strategic decisions.
• Document workflows and build scalable data processes.
• Demonstrate PEMCO values and ethics in daily work.
• Other duties as assigned.
