Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant in actuarial advisory to help clients address complex challenges and pursue growth across life and annuity products. This role involves client-facing work with teams across NY and other US offices, delivering strategy, modeling, and regulatory insights.

You’ll engage in product strategy and innovation, model development and optimization, and actuarial transformation as part of client engagement teams, with travel to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related quantitative major.
• 3+ years of life/annuity actuarial experience (consulting, carrier, or reinsurer).
• Progress toward Society of Actuaries credentials (ASA or advanced ASA candidacy).
• Exposure to U.S. Life, Health and Annuity products, including features and actuarial considerations.
• Familiarity with U.S. statutory, GAAP, and tax reporting frameworks and regulatory developments (VM-22, Bermuda EBS, LDTI, IFRS 17).
• Experience with at least one core life actuarial discipline (e.g., transformation, modeling, reinsurance, capital solutions, financial reporting).
• Familiar with prominent actuarial modeling software platforms (GGY AXIS, Prophet, ALFA/Integrate, PathWise, Slope, PolySystems).
• Strong writing, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledge to help clients execute strategies and resolve complex issues.
• Lead client engagement teams on multiple projects.
• Contribute to product strategy and innovation, model development, and actuarial transformation.
• Support Mergers and Acquisitions, reinsurance, and capital optimization.
• Tackle financial and regulatory reporting and assurance.
• Contribute to enterprise strategy for clients.
