Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst - Pharmacy Medical Economics to help shape our pharmacy strategy. You will collaborate across teams, turn data into actionable insights, and support a variety of actuarial functions to drive informed decisions and performance.

The role requires 4+ years of actuarial experience, exams toward ASA, and SQL proficiency. We offer a Hybrid-Flex arrangement with a strong benefits package and salary range disclosed in the job posting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field.
• 4+ years of actuarial experience.
• Completed 5+ exams towards ASA designation.
• In lieu of minimum exam requirements, additional relevant experience may be considered.
• ASA or more exams towards the eventual attainment of ASA may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supports pharmacy trend and hot spot analysis.
• Evaluates moderately complex trend analysis.
• Monitors and forecasts pharmacy profitability.
• Provides actuarial support for corporate pharmacy initiatives.
• Performs pricing research projects, including experience and trend analyses, book of business studies, vendor analyses, etc.
• Monitors industry news and ensures the company is competitively well-positioned in a dynamic marketplace.
• Proactively reviews advanced data analytic methods and identifies opportunities to improve team processes.
• Participates in requirements gathering for and serves as delegate or backup for corporate projects.
• Plans, implements, manages and/or contributes to projects that are moderate/high complexity.
• Is a participant in good standing in the Actuarial Development Program.
