Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst – Pharmacy Medical Economics to shape and support our pharmacy strategy. The role collaborates across teams, translating data into actionable insights and contributing to a range of actuarial functions that drive informed decisions and improved performance.

The position requires 4+ years of actuarial experience, 5+ ASA exams (or ASA-equivalent), and strong SQL skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 4+ years of actuarial experience. Related experience may be considered.
• Must have completed 5 or more exams towards ASA; ASA or more exams may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports pharmacy trend and hot spot analysis.
• Evaluates moderately complex trend analysis.
• Monitors and forecasts pharmacy profitability.
• Provides actuarial support for corporate pharmacy initiatives.
• Performs pricing research projects, including experience and trend analyses, book of business studies, vendor analyses.
• Monitors industry news and ensures competitive positioning.
• Reviews advanced data analytic methods and identifies process improvements.
• Gathers requirements and serves as delegate for corporate projects; contributes ideas and analytical approaches.
• Plans, implements, and manages projects of moderate/high complexity.
• Participates in Actuarial Development Program.
