Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst - Pharmacy Medical Economics to drive actuarial insights for our pharmacy strategy. You will evaluate trends, forecast profitability, and support corporate initiatives while collaborating across teams in a flexible hybrid setting.

The role requires 4+ years of actuarial experience, ongoing ASA progress, and strong SQL skills. You’ll influence pricing research, data analytics, and project leadership within a dynamic health care environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 4+ years of experience in actuarial work.
• Must have completed 5 or more exams towards the eventual attainment of the ASA designation.
• In lieu of meeting minimum exam requirements, may consider additional relevant experience.
• In lieu of meeting minimum experience requirement, may consider ASA or more exams towards the eventual attainment of ASA.

Responsibilities

• Supports pharmacy trend and hot spot analysis.
• Evaluates moderately complex trend analysis.
• Monitors and forecasts pharmacy profitability.
• Provides actuarial support for corporate pharmacy initiatives.
• Performs pricing research projects, including experience and trend analyses, book of business studies, vendor analyses, etc.
• Monitors industry news and ensures the company is competitively well-positioned in a dynamic marketplace.
• Proactively reviews advanced data analytic methods and identifies opportunities to improve team processes.
• Participates in requirements gathering for and serves as delegate or backup for corporate projects. Generates ideas and analytical approaches for Departmental projects.
• Plans, implements, manages and/or contributes to projects that are moderate/high complexity.
• Is a participant in good standing in the Actuarial Development Program.
