Job summary

Amoroso Wellness at York is seeking a positive, compassionate activities assistant to work with residents during scheduled activity events. The role involves handling daily logistics and engaging residents for fun, safe events while staying on time and within budget.

You will stage entertaining activities tailored to residents' age and physical or emotional condition, staying observant, creative, and caring throughout all events.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly events to encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation.
• Implement activities that accommodate those with special needs.
• Handle logistics to make the event possible, such as making phone calls, advertising, managing inventory and budgets, training and motivating volunteers or employees, and coordinating transportation.
• Observe participants at events, gauge their enjoyment, and obtain feedback to improve events.
• Keep records regarding event planning resources, participant interest, and other notable information, such as injuries or behavioral incidents.
• Report medical concerns or observations.
• Ensure events are well-provisioned, the event staff is trained and prepared, and that the event takes place on time and within budget.
• Provide participants with instructions for the event.
• Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures.
