Astoria Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated Activity Assistant to plan and facilitate social and recreational events for our residents. This PART_TIME role focuses on enhancing quality of life through engaging programs and meaningful interactions with seniors.

You will document attendance, maintain calendars, and support monthly resident council meetings, coordinating with care teams to tailor activities to individual needs and abilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with groups and individuals.
• Knowledge of care needs of elderly residents is helpful.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating residents' backgrounds, interests and needs to develop meaningful activity programs.
• Develop and maintain attendance records and activity documentation.
• Maintain monthly activity calendars and coordinate with relevant services.
• Assist and facilitate monthly resident council meetings and group activities.
• Perform other duties as requested.
