Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some recreation, gerontology coursework is a plus.
• Love connecting with seniors and building rapport.
• Creative and able to plan and lead activities for varied interests and abilities.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and kindness.
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
• Basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run a variety of activities with the Engagement Director (exercise, sessions, art, trips, spiritual gatherings, speakers and music).
• Connect with residents personally to ensure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
• Help plan trips outside the community; organize details and ensure safety and happiness.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents can make friends.
• Keep records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep programs engaging and relevant.
