Job summary

National Health Care Associates in Kennebunk, ME is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and implement recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents. Your creativity and energy help create a positive, engaging environment where seniors can thrive.

You will work with the Activities Director to calendar events, provide one-on-one support, and document participation, with opportunities for mentorship, training, and career growth in a caring, team-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting preferred but training will be provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic by nature.
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and chronically ill.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents.
• Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar.
• Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance.
• Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents.
• Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities.
