Job summary

Brigham House in Weymouth, MA, seeks an Activities Coordinator to plan and implement engaging programs for residents, enhancing mental, physical, spiritual and social well-being. You will lead preplanned activities, create new events with director approval, and manage supplies.

The role requires creativity, motivation, and strong computer skills, including calendar software, with monthly newsletters and community outings. Prior experience with elders is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of therapeutic recreational techniques.
• Ability to oversee daily programming in the temporary absence of the Activities Director.
• Experience working with elders.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carries out preplanned activities, and create new programming of her choice with approval by Activities Director.
• Responsible for preparation and clean up of supplies.
• Accompany residents with an aid on outings monthly to prearranged locations.
• Develop Daily Activity posters and monthly newsletter.
• Welcome new residents and introduce them to the activities of the community.
• Assist other managers with any special functions for residents (i.e. Theme dinners or holiday decorating of community).
