Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife in Dedham, MA is seeking an energetic Programs Coordinator to plan, coordinate and lead activities that meet residents’ intellectual, social, spiritual and physical needs.

You will develop a variety of programs, coordinate outings, assist with calendars, work with volunteers, and ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment while maintaining strong relationships with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Compassion for and desire to work with a senior population.
• Bachelor's degree or 4-5 years of commensurate experience. Master's degree preferable.
• Extensive cultural exposure through art, music and science.
• Willingness to learn Jewish culture and traditions.
• Be available for weekends, holidays and evenings.
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
• Must have ability to innovate, and think strategically and conceptually.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be professional and collaborative.
• Must have a positive demeanor, and have the ability to handle difficult situations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change.
• Computer literacy; experience with Windows, Word, Power Point, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead imaginative programs that account for residents' preferences and abilities, adapting as needed.
• Research, plan and lead various outings.
• Contribute to move-in and welcoming processes and care plan meetings.
• Administrative tasks include daily schedules and monthly program calendars.
• Support residents in achieving life and wellness goals; build relationships with families.
• Follow through on program goals and objectives.
• Fulfill other duties and changes in venue or tasks as assigned.
