Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Acquisition Specialist to lead acquisition support for a large CBP program in the Washington, DC area. The role requires on-site presence 1–2 days per week and close collaboration with government staff and contractors to ensure high-quality acquisition products throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of federal acquisition support experience.
  • Leadership experience managing teams of 5–10.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance, or related.
  • Expert knowledge of FAR and DHS/DOD acquisition processes.
  • Strong communication and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation and security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Government PM’s primary point of contact for individual programs.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise contractor acquisition and program management staff across a program.
  • Be responsible and accountable for all aspects of the program daily tasks, deliverables, and activities, including planning and execution, logistics, and staffing requirements where applicable.
  • Elevate risks, issues, and opportunities when appropriate.
  • Respond to internal and external taskers, questions, and inquiries on assigned tasks, projects and business analysis.
  • Proactively resolve risks and issues that impact the team’s ability to support USBP’s mission and goals.
  • Lead the team to develop program deliverables and work products for quality accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client and LMI and PMOD customer quality standards.
