Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Finance team on site. You will process vendor invoices, check requests, and other payments in accordance with university policy and timelines.

The role requires 3–5 years of AP experience, an associate degree in accounting or related field, and proficiency in Excel/Word and AP software. Strong accuracy, communication, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associates or better in Accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of work experience in Accounts Payable.
• Experience in educational institutions is a plus.
• Experience with A/P software
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities

• Process daily vendor invoices for payment with 3-way or 4-way matching.
• Process daily check requests for vendors, card companies, employees, and students.
• Enter and post daily A/P batches to the accounting system.
• Open and sort incoming mail from vendors.
• Reconcile vendors’ monthly statements and resolve issues.
• Prepare and mail checks after CFO approval.
• Upload processed checks to the bank’s system.
• Assist in providing documents for audits and vendor analyses.
• Maintain organized files for all payments made.
