Job summary

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Senior Accountant to support multiple departments in daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting, balance sheets, and general ledger maintenance.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting (CPA preferred), 2+ years grant accounting, 3–5 years senior accounting experience, and experience with Great Plains and related systems. This is an on-site, full-time position with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA license preferred.
• 2+ years grant accounting experience; university setting preferred.
• 3–5 years senior accounting experience; nonprofit experience desirable.
• ERP or systems implementation experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly deposit review with Cash Manager.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
• Bank Reconciliations.
• Petty Cash Reconciliations.
• All Other Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly journal entries including payroll accrual & reversal, deferred revenue recognition, and expense accruals.
