Job summary

Chief is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to manage end-to-end AP operations in a fast-growing tech environment. You will ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time, maintain internal controls, and scale payables with the business while partnering with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in accounts payable, experience with Netsuite, Tipalti, Expensify, advanced Excel, and a passion for process improvement in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive accounts payable experience in high-volume environments.
• Knowledge of end-to-end AP processes: three-way match, reconciliations, accruals, month-end close.
• Experience with Netsuite, Tipalti, Expensify; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Process complex AP transactions with accurate coding and approvals.
• Set up vendors, perform reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile AP sub-ledger and maintain internal controls.
• Support month-end close and accruals with accounting teams.
• Assist with annual 1099 filing and audit requests.
• Improve AP processes through automation and controls.
