Job summary

Twenty-Six Defense, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for the Warfighter Systems division in Roanoke, VA. You will process AP invoices, manage Concur travel and expense approvals, support payroll as needed, and prepare monthly close entries under the General Accounting Manager.

The role requires 2–5+ years of AP experience, advanced Excel, GAAP/SOX knowledge, and collaboration with Purchasing and IT in an ERP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2–5+ years of Accounts Payables experience; payroll experience is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Strong vendor communications and issue resolution abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with complex formulas and pivot tables.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, SOX controls, and ERP systems (Infor preferred).

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payables invoices.
• Maintain Accounts Payables ledger.
• Schedule weekly check runs and wire payments.
• Process debit memos.
• Support cash disbursements pacing and cash flow forecasting.
• Manage Concur travel and expense approvals.
• Accrue and file Sales Tax monthly.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Receiving to resolve issues.
• Liaise with external vendors to resolve payment issues.
• Perform monthly closing activities and journal entries.
• Backup Payroll processing and reporting.
• Assist with quarterly inventory counts/audits.
• Support legacy ERP and Infor ERP implementation at Roanoke site.
