Job summary

KBR in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the Shared Services team within Mission Technology Solutions. You will oversee the close, reconciliations, reporting, and financial planning while ensuring SOX/compliance and audit readiness.

This role partners with leadership to drive process improvement, automation, and KPI development across a $4.5B government services organization, mentoring staff, and ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in accounting/finance.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years in a management/leadership role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Experience with forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and audits (FAR, DFARS, CAS).
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting/analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee departmental accounting operations within Shared Services and the monthly/quarterly close process.
• Manage and develop accounting professionals, driving performance and growth.
• Support forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis activities with leadership.
• Ensure internal controls and SOX compliance across processes.
• Drive automation and process improvements in accounting workflows.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards for visibility and decision making.
• Support audits and provide timely responses to requests.
