Job summary

KBR in Houston, TX or Huntsville, AL seeks a Senior Accountant to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close. The role covers foreign currency movements, debt accounting, and cross-functional collaboration across finance.

This is a hands-on position with opportunities to contribute to key analyses and process improvements. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance with 3–6 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and a solid US GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–6 years of accounting experience with journal entries, reconciliations, GL maintenance, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Maintain the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP.
• Support variance analysis and ad hoc financial reporting.
• Record debt-related journal entries and amortization schedules.
• Collaborate with finance teams across the organization on accounting processes.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Ensure data accuracy in accounting systems and perform data cleanup.
