Job summary

Mozilla.org seeks a Senior Accounting Manager to drive the integrity and scalability of accounting across three entities, including nonprofit and for‑profit structures. You will own the general ledger, close cycles, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting, reporting to the Head of Finance.

You will strengthen controls, partner with treasury and tax professionals, manage audits, and help design scalable processes to support growth and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience for nonprofit and for‑profit entities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and complex accounting processes.
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities or complex organizational structures.
• Experience with treasury/cash flow, tax compliance coordination, audits, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve accounting issues independently.
• Strong systems and spreadsheet skills; ability to automate processes.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with Finance leadership and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Own daily accounting in the general ledger for three managed entities, including journals, expenses, accruals, fixed assets, inter‑company transactions, revenues, and other entries.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate reporting.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger and shared chart of accounts.
• Coordinate payroll financial data with HR for accurate payroll processing.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and schedules.
• Manage inter‑company accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations where applicable.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment across nonprofit and for‑profit entities (grants, investments, assets).
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and governance‑level reporting.
