Job summary

VeldCo Holdings is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the accuracy and integrity of our financial records across assigned entities. This senior, hands-on role prepares and reviews financials, leads the general ledger, and manages vendor compliance and 1099 reporting.

You’ll review financials for multiple entities, resolve issues, and ensure timely, fully supported statements. The position reports to the Controller and offers remote flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial-statement preparation.
• Strong command of the full accounting cycle, month-end close, journal entries, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Detail-oriented with a strong review mindset and a high standard for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and own and manage the monthly close across assigned entities.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, job reconciliations, job costing, percentage-of-completion calculations, inventory reconciliations, and management reports.
• Own the general ledger: maintain recurring journal entries, ensure coding consistency, and keep balance-sheet reconciliations timely.
• Own the integrity and compliance of accounting master data, including vendor and customer setup; enforce master-data standards and audit for gaps.
• Manage vendor compliance and new vendor creation (W-9 collection, taxpayer-information validation, and certificate-of-insurance tracking).
• Perform the first-level review of financial statements and workpapers across assigned entities.
• Help prepare and review financial workpapers across assigned entities, including cross-entity schedules.
• Oversee the accounts receivable process and monthly client billings.
• Prepare financial information for the annual insurance audit and tax filings as directed by the Controller and CFO.
• Build efficiencies, strengthen accounting processes and internal controls, and support the accounts payable team.
