Job summary

SARASOTA MANATEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to oversee the general ledger, financial package preparation, and closing activities. You will direct accounts payable and lead the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to controls.

The role requires strong GAAP/GASB knowledge and a proven ERP implementation track record, with leadership experience guiding a finance team in a government-related environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience with audit, GL, and accounts payable.
• Minimum 3 years of government accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience implementing an ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and accounting methodologies for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages.
• Direct monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities of accounts payable.
• Lead and supervise accounting functions including accounts payable, GL management, and financial reporting.
• Ensure integrity of financial controls and compliance with procedures.
