Job summary

CandleScience Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations in a Durham, NC hybrid workplace.

You will oversee the general ledger, close processes, and implement strong internal controls while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy. The role requires at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, fluency in GAAP, and expertise in inventory accounting within a manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and progressive accounting experience.
• CPA preferred; strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Experience with inventory costing in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Manage inventory accounting, COGS, and product cost data.
• Supervise Accounts Payable, reconcile Accounts Receivable, and monitor cash forecasts.
