Job summary

Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. in Cincinnati seeks a Senior Manager, Accounting to lead 10+ accounting professionals and ensure GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting. You will drive the monthly close and partner with leadership to align processes with corporate goals.

The role requires a CPA and 10+ years of experience, with SAP expertise and ERP knowledge. You will shape SOPs, support audits, and mentor staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification required.
• CMA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP.
• ERP implementation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GAAP and internal control compliance with timely data recording and a framework for internal control effectiveness.
• Own the monthly and quarterly close process, ensure reconciliations are completed on schedule and properly supported.
• Lead, hire, train, and develop a team of 10+ accounting professionals and manage performance benchmarks.
• Prepare and/or review financial reporting packages and analyses for senior leadership, highlighting variances and key drivers.
• Establish SOPs, policies, documentation, and goals/objectives for the accounting function.
• Support the Corporate Controller with year-end audit and liaison with external auditors.
• Assist the CFO/Corporate Controller with ASC/ASU adoption and cross-functional coordination.
• Foster a positive work environment to maximize team performance and career growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
