VSC Fire & Security in Richmond, VA is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the finance team and oversee multi-entity consolidations, GAAP reporting, and acquisitions integration. The role focuses on closings, internal controls, ERP system optimization (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle), and partnering with leadership on forecasts and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, audit, or transaction advisory services.
• Experience with consolidations, acquisitions, and complex accounting environments.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or Oracle).
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools.
• Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and consolidations.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-state operations and intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Manage multi-entity consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.
• Oversee fixed assets, revenue recognition, and lease accounting per ASC 842.
• Assist with due diligence for acquisitions, including quality of earnings analyses.
• Oversee onboarding and financial integration of acquired entities.
• Partner with leadership to develop financial forecasts and models for acquisitions.
• Lead the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards for timely reporting.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and SOX compliance (if applicable).
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency of accounting operations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members.
• Support ERP enhancements and upgrades, including automation of processes.
