Job summary

Clark Schaefer Hackett seeks an experienced Manager to lead accounting engagements and client relationships. You will oversee timely delivery, review financial statements, and guide a distributed team across onshore and Mumbai to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of accounting experience (including review and coaching), a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and CPA/CMA as a plus. Strong Excel and QuickBooks/Xero/Sage 50 skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in a review capacity.
• CPA or CMA is preferred.
• Experience managing outsourced accounting portfolios is preferred.
• Experience with financial statement preparation or compilation engagements is required.
• Experience supervising offshore or distributed delivery teams is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and ledger reconstruction ability are required.

Responsibilities

• Own timely, accurate delivery across monthly, quarterly, and annual engagements.
• Review trial balances, reconciliations, schedules, and year-end packages.
• Approve preparation and compilation engagements per firm standards.
• Scope and oversee cleanup and multi-period recon engagements.
• Manage portfolio budgets, billing, realization, and calendars.
• Serve as first-line client relationship owner for scope, timing, and fees.
• Lead advisory opportunities including cash flow forecasting and FP&A.
• Allocate work and manage capacity across onshore and offshore teams.
• Coach 4–8 team members and provide performance input.
• Drive process improvements to improve first-pass quality and reduce rework.
• Engage in networking, proposals, and industry activities.
