Job summary

Clark Schaefer Hackett is seeking an Audit Manager to quarterback engagements, develop teams, and deliver high-quality client service. You will lead planning through delivery, manage budgets and timelines, and mentor staff while collaborating with firm leadership to expand services.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in audit, strong client-facing skills, and a BS in accounting. CPA is preferred but not required; local travel within the home office area is common.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of audit experience, preferably within public accounting.
• Ability to lead multiple engagements from planning through delivery.
• Strong client-facing skills with executives, owners, and leadership.
• Experience mentoring staff and building high-performing teams.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and completion of multiple audit engagements.
• Manage budgets, timelines, staffing, and overall project performance while ensuring client service.
• Build trusted client relationships by identifying risks and delivering practical recommendations.
• Review workpapers, financial statements, and engagement deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Coach and develop audit professionals and foster accountability and collaboration.
• Partner with firm leadership to support practice development and client service expansion.
