JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role will lead corporate consolidation, key corporate account reconciliations and aid the VP Corporate Controller in financial reporting, and acquisition integration. This role supports the corporate Finance and M&A teams in transitioning historical accounting practices at target companies to post-closing accounting and reporting requirements, recommending future financial plans and policies when necessary.

Required Education and Certification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA license.
• Big 4 experience preferred.

The opportunity is remote or can be hybrid in Brea, CA.

• Lead corporate consolidation and reporting processes.
• Coordinate accounting of Goodwill, Intangibles, Debt, and other key corporate accounts.
• Leads lease accounting, reporting results and related software providing guidance to operational accounting teams.
• Serve as accounting support to local Controllers and accounting teams as they create and implement new accounting practices.
• Assist with the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy and US GAAP compliance.
• Provide recommendations and demonstrate leadership in streamlining accounting processes and implementation of policies and procedures.
• Coordinate audits with external firms, collaborating with internal stakeholders when needed.
• Support the accounting and financial reporting integration efforts with ERP implementation changes.
• Transition historical accounting practices to post-closing compliance with US GAAP and CoolSys’ accounting practices.
• Implement accounting and financial reporting integration tasks to bridge the gap between historical accounting practices and the post-closing reporting requirements.
• Support Director of Corporate Accounting, VP Corporate Controller in managing tasks and schedules for the accounting team at the acquired company.
• Provide on-site accounting support, if needed.
• Support the Director of Corporate Accounting or VP Corporate Controller by working with internal and external resources to support the corporate accounting, finance, and M&A teams with acquisition integration. Manage third party finance consultants assisting with acquisition integration.
• Drive the opening balance sheet purchase accounting and provide support to complete the working capital true-up calculations.
• Evaluate the acquired business' accounting operations, processes, systems, and procedures for efficiency of workflow; identify process improvements and provide recommendations on solutions.

Qualifications/ Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role managing a team of 6-10 professionals.
• Ability to learn about merger/acquisition integration or due diligence advisory roles.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, especially in the application and accounting for acquisitions and percentage of completion.
• Demonstrated process improvement accomplishments.
• Supervisory experience.
• Comfortable interacting with a variety of skill levels with a demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with strong Excel skills.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational/prioritization and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task with close attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure & meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
• ERP implementation experience preferred.
