Job summary

Group CBS Companies is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager in Denton, TX to lead accounting operations and supervise staff toward timely, accurate financial reporting.

The role will manage journal entries, GL reconciliations, and balance sheet workbooks while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls. The position requires 5+ years in accounting (manufacturing/cost accounting preferred), a bachelor’s in accounting, and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, creating detailed reports, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation workbook for each entity and provide first level review for Controller.
• Summarize current financial status by collecting information for balance sheet, P&L, and other reports.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Comply with accounting, tax and financial regulations.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Maintain internal controls and confidentiality.
• Coordinate with staff accountants to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
• Drive monthly closing schedule to meet milestones.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations for completeness.
