Job summary

Madison-Davis, LLC, a $6 billion real estate investment manager expanding its Charlotte office, seeks a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join its Finance & Accounting team. You will work on corporate accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, and strategic finance initiatives across CRE debt and structured investments.

You will partner with leadership, coordinate with auditors, and help improve controls and processes while gaining broad exposure to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• 3–8+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, private equity, real estate, asset management, investment banking, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large dataset.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skill.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with significant visibility to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly close, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for executive management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial planning initiatives.
• Partner with leadership on strategic finance projects, process improvements, and special initiatives related to the firm's continued growth.
• Analyze operating expenses and provide meaningful financial insights to support business decision-making.
• Assist with compensation accounting, allocations, intercompany transactions, and corporate consolidations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during annual audits and tax reporting.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting processes.
• Participate in finance initiatives related to acquisitions, capital raises, and new business ventures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with investment, operations, legal, compliance, and investor relations teams on firm-wide initiatives.
