Why This Role Is Important

• Play a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes
• Own GL maintenance, account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
• Partner with Finance and other departments to ensure financial information tells the full story by addressing and resolving accounting inquiries
• Supervise a team of accountants – coach, support, and develop their growth
• Analyze expense accounts, proactively identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost optimization
• Identify ways to automate, optimize, and improve financial operations
• Coordinate with auditors and internal staff during financial statement and overhead audits
• Support acquisition due diligence, data consolidation and integration activities, as needed

The Background That Fits

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in medium to large corporate environments
• At least 2 years of leadership and people management experience
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
• Tech-savvy with Excel, ERP systems, BI analytics, and workflow automation
• Prior experience in the A/E/C industry preferred; FAR/CAS accounting experience a plus
