Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to maintain accounting records, prepare timely reports, and support month-end closings in a fast-paced environment at our U.S. plants.

The role emphasizes accuracy in the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cross-functional collaboration. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, 3 years in accounting, proficiency with Excel, and familiarity with automated payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school diploma required.
• Three (3) years' previous work experience in a business office / accounting function with exposure to general ledger, payroll, and/or accounts payable functions.
• Previous experience using automated accounting/payroll system.
• Strong working knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Office preferably with exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Post entries accurately and completely to the general ledger and verify balances.
• Process accounts payable transactions including batch payment preparation.
• Post, audit and collect accounts receivable transactions and make adjustments as needed.
• Support weekly hourly payroll processing and assist in month-end closings.
