The University of Miami/UHealth Department of OBGYN has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sr. Accounting Assistant to join our team in Miami, FL.

The role applies accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepares accurate reports to ensure proper controls. As a key member, you will mentor junior staff, support department financial and grant reporting, and assist in closing processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and budgeting controls.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial records.
• Experience with journal entries and monthly close processes.
• Familiarity with Workday is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the creation and maintenance of accounts and related issues.
• Process disbursements, voucher remittances, and standard ledger entries.
• Verify entries and reconcile discrepancies.
• Provide backup support for other accounting functions.
• Assist in preparing gift and grant reports to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and post journal entries for closing processes.
• Conduct variance analysis and support budgeting and forecasting.
