Job summary

The University of Miami seeks an Accountant 3 to join the Medicine department on the UHealth campus in a hybrid full-time role. You will maintain financial records, prepare balance sheets and income statements, and ensure entries are accurate.

You will analyze costs, forecasts, and budgets, mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with GAAP, and generate reports for taxes and regulators. Collaboration with department leadership to support strategic initiatives is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles (GAAP).
• Ability to manage a budget and communicate results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Analyzes costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Oversees, mentors, and assists lower-level accountants.
• Ensures compliance with legal requirements and protects organizational assets.
• Develops financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
