Job summary

Deriva Energy, a leading renewables company based in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Accounting Analyst to own month-end close, intercompany accounting, and internal controls. The role partners with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and strong process discipline.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years of experience, and ideally CPA credentials. ERP experience (NetSuite) and proficiency in Excel/Power BI are valued, with opportunities to lead process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of diverse or complex accounting experience beyond degree.
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment and with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with a 4-calendar-day close in quarter-end periods.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple legal entities.
• Perform cash accounting, analysis, and reconciliations including treasury/financing transactions.
• Prepare and maintain moderate-to-complex balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Execute assigned SOX controls and support audit requests, testing, and documentation.
• Participate in ERP implementations, system enhancements, and UAT, including process documentation.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and communicate risks and recommendations to management.
• Demonstrate ownership of accounting processes and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional partners.
