Job summary

Friendship Place is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the Veterans Program. You will work closely with the VP Administration/CFO and the Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting for the SSVF program and related functions. The role offers hybrid/remote work with travel to designated locations as needed.

We value accountability, confidentiality, and a strong customer service mindset as you prepare invoices, process AP/GL entries, and support the annual audit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Advanced Excel skills and MS Office proficiency required.
• At least two years of full-time accounting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to designated locations.

Responsibilities

• Review all transactions related to the SSVF program daily for proper allocation.
• Prepare bi-monthly invoices documenting SSVF expenses for billing to the Veterans Administration.
• Review SSVF employee credit card transactions for allowable expenses and proper approvals.
• Liaise between Finance, SSVF staff, and landlords to follow up on payments.
• Reconcile SSVF expenses to private funding sources and maintain GL entries.
• Process SSVF accounts payable and payroll entries daily.
