Job summary

The State of Nevada’s Central Payroll unit within the Division of Human Resource Management seeks an Accountant Technician II in Las Vegas or Carson City. The role supports the state’s central fiscal agent for 100+ accounts, approving payments and reconciling transactions to ensure timely processing for department agencies and vendors.

Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, off-cycle payroll, and complex reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and three years of financial records maintenance experience, or equivalent combination.
• Experience or knowledge of accounting procedures, reports, and balance sheets.
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Approve payments in the State's financial system; track pending payable transactions.
• Reconcile transactions within CORENV and bank accounts.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports; monitor and audit grant monies.
• Manage federal draw downs and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
• Supervise clerical staff and oversee complex accounting procedures.
