Job summary

Las Vegas-Clark County Library District seeks a Senior Accountant to perform advanced technical accounting activities, support day-to-day functions, and potentially oversee tasks under the CFO. The role handles accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and reporting, within a full-time 40-hour workweek.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's in accounting/related field, 3 years of accounting experience, and be eligible for a Nevada driver’s license, with a Master’s

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible technical accounting experience required.
• Proficiency in Windows applications including Excel, Word, and Access.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Nevada Driver’s License at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, cash handling, fixed assets tracking, general ledger maintenance, and other designated areas.
• Performs assigned accounting tasks and supports supervision of tasks; acts as a subject matter expert when required.
• Prepares financial reports, budget summaries, and analyses under the CFO’s direction; conducts process and financial analysis for compliance.
• Processes payroll and related reporting documents.
• Coordinates with Financial Services staff for external audits and preparation of financial reports such as the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and budget.
• Monitors compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, and LVCCLD policies.
• Creates and maintains district financial reports with supporting material and updates records as necessary.
• Resolves issues for LVCCLD staff or the public in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
