Job summary

UPL North America is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accurate financial reporting by managing general ledger activities, month-end close, audits, and fixed asset/lease accounting. You will ensure compliance with U.S.

GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and company policies while coordinating with Treasury and cross-functional teams. The role requires a strong accounting foundation, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in general ledger, financial reporting, audit, or a related accounting role.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on SAP experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and variance analysis.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, amortization, lease accounting, or related general ledger activities.
• Experience supporting external audits, internal audits, or financial control reviews.
• Experience with SAP FI/CO, fixed asset modules, lease accounting processes, or close management tools.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to understand the “why” behind accounting processes and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated learning agility and ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, accounting requirements, and business changes.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger and Close Activities: prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with focus on accuracy and documentation.
• Perform GL reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve items.
• Prepare and post prepaid expense, accrual, and reclassification entries.
• Partner with Treasury on cash reconciliations and related entries.
