Job summary

UPL in Cary, NC seeks a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger activities, support month- and year-end closes, and assist with audits to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS.

You will maintain fixed asset and lease accounting records and collaborate across Finance, Operations, and Treasury to drive accurate reporting. You will rely on strong Excel skills and SAP FI/CO experience, with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in general ledger, financial reporting, audit, or related.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on SAP experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong Office skills.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Experience with fixed assets, depreciation, lease accounting.
• Experience supporting external audits, internal audits, or financial control reviews.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and lease accounting records.
• Coordinate audit support for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Prepare balance sheet and income statement variance analyses and reports.
