Job summary

Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Accountant – Renewables to join our growing renewables team in Houston.

You will own accounting, profitability analysis, and financial reporting for the renewable joint venture, interfacing with accounting, commercial, and operations teams across multiple states, including Texas, Wyoming, Montana, Washington and Hawaii. You will gain exposure to SAP (our ERP) and strengthen financial analysis processes while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar required.
• CPA preferred
• Minimum six (6) years of accounting experience in private industry and/or public accounting required. Downstream industry experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred (MM/FI/CO modules)
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and intermediate to advanced Excel
• Understanding of GAAP and ability to apply to the Corporation's accounting needs
• Ability to research, solve problems, and take initiative to recommend process improvements
• Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form and to collaborate with all levels of staff
• Organized, responsive, and detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with various stakeholders
• Fluent in English, both oral and written

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly financial statements under U.S. GAAP, including cash flows.
• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results including capex and EBITDA.
• Lead renewable inventory accounting, including FIFO roll forwards.
• Review accounting of purchases, sales, settlements, and title transfers.
• Coordinate eliminations for consolidation with other teams.
• Post month-end journal entries and prepare reports for renewable assets.
• Respond to inquiries from management, auditors, and regulators.
• Support process improvements and system enhancements.
