Job summary

Par Pacific is seeking a Sr. Accountant - Renewables in Houston to oversee accounting, financial reporting and margin analysis for the renewable joint venture across multiple states.

You will prepare quarterly statements under US GAAP, manage journal entries, renewables inventory costing, and coordinate with Commercial, Treasury and Operations teams to ensure accurate results.

Required: Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 6+ years' experience, SAP experience, advanced Excel; CPA preferred. EOE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar required.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum six (6) years of accounting experience in private industry and/or public accounting.
• SAP experience preferred (MM/FI/CO).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).
• Understanding of GAAP and ability to apply it to business needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate across teams.
• Organized, detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly statutory reporting under US GAAP, including cash flow statements.
• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results (G/L, margins, EBITDA).
• Lead renewable inventory accounting activities, including costing and FIFO roll forwards.
• Review period purchases, sales, and settlements impacting balance sheet and income statement.
• Coordinate with reporting teams for eliminations and consolidation.
• Prepare and post journal entries during month-end close and generate supporting reports.
• Respond to inquiries from management, auditors, and regulators.
