Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements, supporting our financial health and strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background with 3–5 years of experience, solid Excel skills, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5–8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and revenue recognition experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and team-oriented with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions: reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate to departments; report to stakeholders.
• Ensure transactions align with GAAP and company policies.
• Review billing for proper revenue recognition; post accruals.
• Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position; budget variance analysis.
• Assist in budgeting design and preparation for management.
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
