Job summary

Hillwood Investment Properties (HIP) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Dallas-based fund accounting team. This role supports HIP's fund accounting group with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and financial reporting for development and operating properties held within its funds.

The Senior Accountant will manage accounting and reporting for assigned properties from acquisition through disposition, including development activities, operating assets, joint ventures, financing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in public accounting, fund accounting, and/or commercial real estate accounting.
• Experience with development accounting, operating properties, co-investments, and/or joint ventures preferred.
• Experience with JD Edwards, OneStream, or comparable systems required.
• Interest in leveraging AI, automation, and technology tools to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting and reporting for development and operating properties from acquisition through disposition.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.
• Record and reconcile property-level cash activity and initiate wires as needed.
• Calculate development, property management fees and support capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, and allocations.
• Prepare fund- and property-level financial reporting for investors and lenders.
• Support lease and operating-property accounting, including CAM reconciliations and budgeting.
• Collaborate with internal teams, lenders, and JV partners; oversee offshore resources.
